As soon as the Girl Lane range appeared I knew I was in for some major aunty brownie points.
Having spent quite some time with 10 year old Sienna and her mum Bec, I knew that everything mum does, Sienna loves to copy. Whether it’s trying on make-up or following her end-of-day skin care routine, she is 2 steps behind her and usually fighting her for the bathroom mirror.
The first product to make an appearance was the Intensive Hydration Mist. It was taken out of the bag immediately, the label read (briefly) and then the spritzing started. “O-M-G, this is awesome” she kept telling me.
At this point I was privileged enough to get a spray and must say it gave my face a fresh feeling. “I think this one will be great for my bag when we go on holidays mum” and “You don’t have anything like this do you mum??” I managed to decipher from the nonstop excited babbling.
The remaining two products I handed over were the Gentle Face Wash and the Everyday Face Moisturiser which needless to say were “awesome” too.
The next morning I received a text from my sister letting me know that Sienna had used both the products before bed and first thing that morning and couldn’t be happier.
I’m not sure Bec loved the continuous “Doesn’t my face feel so smooth mum” and “Can you smell my new face cream mum” for a good part of the morning. I think the word she used was obsessed.
Bec also informed me that Sienna had had a friend over the night before and they had been practicing using their make-up.
At the end of the night when it came time to remove it Bec was quite impressed with the creams and actually how clean they had left Siennas skin. Not only was Sienna happy with the products, but winning with the sister too.
It’s been 2 weeks since the products were handed over and they are still being used religiously. The next round of questions I got on my next visit were “What other products does Girl Lane have?” Favourite aunty status still intact….check.
