An activity for you and the kids to make together that the kids will find amazing (and you might too) is to make homemade goo. This will provide hours of fun, but remind the kids to keep their mess contained. Maybe a large plastic container, or a couple of smaller one for each child if there is more than one, is a good idea.
- Food colouring
Combine cornstarch, water and a couple of drops of food colouring in your container. Mix together until combined and then get your hands in there and have a feel. The mixture will harden in the bowl and in your hands but when you open your finger it will return to a liquid form and run back into the bowl.
Another recipe that can be used to give you more of a solid substance that can be lifted out of the bowl and played with by the kids is more of a homemade flubber recipe. This one however is not suitable for young children to use unsupervised as it contains Borax (a laundry powder)
