Fun things to do with your kids in Melbourne

Melbourne is a very beautiful destination and the closest thing to a European city in Australia. It’s also a great place to bring your kids because there are plenty of activities for them in this thriving metropolis. Here are the top best things to do with your kids in Melbourne:

-Visit the Pauline Gandel Children’s Gallery.

The Pauline Gandel Children’s Gallery is a really fun place where babies and kids up to 5-years-old  learn and play at the same time. They can dig, climb, dance, explore and look for really cool objects and artefacts featured in the gallery. They can also learn really interesting things about plants in the discovery garden, while fans of dinosaurs can excavate fossils and feel like Indiana Jones! There’s no way your kids could be bored in the Children’s gallery. It’s that entertaining!

-Go putting at the Family Fun Centers Black Light Mini Golf.

Head to the Docklands and play glow-in-the-dark mini golf. Your kids will love the UV lighting technology that makes everything look like a science fiction movie set! Glow Golf features 18 holes and is air-conditioned. A great place to have fun and cool off when it’s super hot outside! So who’ll be the next golf champion?

-Ride a rollercoaster at Luna Park.

The Luna Park amusement park is nearly 100 years old! It’s a really cool place and your kids will love its old-fashioned rides, especially the Pharoah’s Curse, Metropolis, Silly Serpent and Red Baron. There are numerous food stands in the fun fair in case you’re hungry, and the candy floss is positively yummy! So don’t hesitate to walk through that giant mouth, it won’t bite!

-Pet cute animals at Collingwood children’s Farm.

No need to drive to the country! The Collingwood Children’s Farm gives kids a chance to milk the cows, feed the chickens, ride ponies and play with baby animals. There’s a farmer’s market every second Saturday of the month and a café with ingredients produced at the farm. It’s a great place where your children can learn about animals and interact with them in a safe way. Highly recommended!

-See the sharks at SEA LIFE Melbourne aquarium.

Bring your kids to SEA LIFE Melbourne aquarium, and they will thank you forever! Discover 12 themed zones with lots of fish, sharks, turtles and penguins, and enjoy the interactive exhibits with your children, like Croc Lair, Penguin Playground and Rainforest Adventure. The aquarium is easy to navigate and the staff very friendly. You can also sit down at the local café in case you get hungry.

-Discover the St Kilda Adventure playground.

The St Kilda Adventure playground is so much fun for you and your kids. It features trampolines, a flying fox, a giant ship, a wooden maze and a castle. It’s like a children’s paradise! You can also picnic at the BBQ area to relax after hours of fun. This playground is hidden away off Neptune street, but it’s worth looking for it because it’s incredible!

If you’re from out of town and would like to book a room for the weekend, I recommend the Ibis Styles Melbourne, The Victoria Hotel because it’s centrally located, you can walk easily to all the attractions the city has to offer and they often have Melbourne accommodation specials. I hope you enjoy your time down south with your kids!
