Becoming a new parent was always going to have its challenges. We were prepared for sleep deprivation, crying and endless feeding. What we weren’t prepared for was the onslaught of how many baby bath products were about to come into our lives.
We were searching for a product that kept our son’s skin as smooth as the proverbial baby’s bottom without drying it out, a product that had a pleasing fragrance and a product that also contained natural ingredients. This is when we were introduced to the Cetephil range.
Like most families, our evening starts with bath time and recently this has included using the Cetaphil Baby Ultra Moisturising Bath Wash.
As we add this to a running bath the bubbles gain Master 4-month-olds attention and without him even knowing he plays merrily while also getting a good clean. We lather up his hair (what little hair he has) with the Baby Shampoo which leaves the most delicious smell and as it is tear free I don’t have to worry about him getting any product in his eyes during play/splash time.
Like all parents, I dread the days when a poo explosion hits and shower attention is required. Not everyone has time to run a bath and it’s not easy to juggle a slippery child while trying to get them clean in a shower and then wash their hair. Knowing that I only need to use one product, the Gentle Wash & Shampoo reassures me that he is getting a good clean.
As a first time parent, I read up on all the books and they all encouraged baby massage as a way of bonding with baby. We have just incorporated the Massage Oil into this routine. Not only do I think that the massages are a hit, but I love that the Cetaphil range is hypoallergenic and also contains Vitamin E to keep delicate skin hydrated.
Recently Master 4-month old started swimming lessons. I was concerned about the amount of chlorine that he would come in contact with, but after our evening bath, followed by our routine application of the Daily Lotion, I needn’t have been worried as there was no dryness of his skin.
I recently received a compliment from his Maternal Health Nurse at how soft his skin really is. Not only has Master 4-month-old retained his silky smooth skin, I have found that my skin has taken on a softer feel too. We might need to stock up on the Moisturising Bath Wash!!!
