Food Allergy Week is once again upon us (13th-19th May) with the aim to raise awareness, promote understanding and protect those people who are most at risk of food allergies. With 1 in 20 children affected by food allergies*, it is important to have knowledge and understanding of the topic, especially when hosting a party for your little one.
Organising an allergy-friendly party is the new norm in 2018 with a plethora of different allergy conditions affecting Australian children every day. The most common food allergy reactions come from peanuts, tree nuts, milk and egg which can result in a severe and life-threatening anaphylaxis reaction*.
We want all children to feel welcome and included at birthday parties, as well as safe. A great start is to make sure the food you’re preparing is free from a common food allergen among children, nuts.
Find below a list of scrumptious nut free party food ideas for kids, to help you prepare for the special occasion. Allergy-friendly parties don’t have to be bland or boring with these tasty treats!
