Tina Harris is the multi talented and creative force behind children’s television program Lah-Lah’s Adventures!
A classically trained singer, Tina left the Sydney Opera Company to raise her daughters, and grew a chain of music schools for preschool children. During this time Tina noticed that parents were seeking good, fun things to fill the school holidays. Tina together with her husband Mark put on a show. In 2009 children’s group Lah-Lah was born!
Their 2009 debut season at the Seymour Centre in Sydney attracted the attention of the Enmore Theatre and the Sydney Opera House, where they played to packed houses and rave reviews.
Lah-Lah launched a new live show this year Sing It Loud! and is touring nationally to celebrate the release of their 3rd album and DVD Time To Play.
We are lucky enough to have spent 5 minutes with Tina to get a sneak peek into what life is like for her, her husband Mark and daughters Lily and Emily.
Who is your family made up of?
Well, there’s Emily (10), Lily (13), Mark (40 going on 10), Bindi (dog) and Tasha (cat)
What is a typical day with your family like?
We’ve recently moved and Bindi (the dog) has returned after being on holidays at Grandmas, so it’s up, meditate 20 minutes, walk dog, feed kids rush rush got to the office, work work, kids activities after school and home for dinner. It’s crazy but it’s fun and I love it. When we are on tour it’s much simpler because everything is more contained. We love the variety we get in our life.
Who is one person in your life you are thankful for and why?
I’m super thankful for Mark (but don’t tell him that) he’s the detail person and I’m the big picture person. Together we make one brain.
Where do you live and if we were to visit you what would you show us?
Well we have literally just moved into Lah-Lah’s house. We bought a little cottage which after we bought it we put the picture of Lah-Lah’s house and our new house next to each other and they were the same! So we are in Newtown, 5 minutes from school and great coffee.
What is your greatest talent or ability?
Multitasking, I’m really good at doing 10 things and planning another 10. I’m always thinking of the next great big adventure which drives everyone in the family nuts but hey, they can’t say life is boring in our family.
If you had the attention of the world for just 10 seconds, what would you say?
Hmmmmm Let’s be present, open, loving and friends
If you could have any superpower, which would you choose?
Oh easy, I just want to fly, wouldn’t that be amazing? Be anywhere in the world in a flash
